Seamless environmental optimization

Comfort that follows people through the building, and stops when they leave

Ask anyone who runs a senior living community or a hotel how their rooms are heated, cooled and lit, and the honest answer is usually "on a schedule" or "until somebody notices". Thermostats wait to be touched. Lights wait to be switched. Schedules assume that today looks like the day the schedule was written.

ALLIE replaces assumptions with a fact the building has never had before: whether anyone is actually in the room, right now.

Occupancy is the missing input

Once a room knows it is occupied, a whole set of quiet adjustments becomes possible:

  • Temperature relaxes toward a setback point when the room empties and recovers before people are expected back, so comfort is waiting rather than catching up.
  • Airflow is directed to where people are. The ALLIE vent coordinates with the switch so a room can be conditioned without conditioning the whole floor.
  • Lighting comes up to the right level when someone walks in, drops to a safe night-path glow when someone gets up at 2 a.m., and turns off when the room is empty, without anyone having to remember.
  • Plug loads that nobody is using are quieted at the outlet and restored the instant they are needed.

None of this requires a resident or a guest to learn an app, speak a command or change a habit. The room simply behaves as if a thoughtful person were looking after it.

Tailored to routines, not rules

Rules-based automation is brittle. "Lights off at 10 p.m." is wrong on the night someone is up with a book. ALLIE learns the routine of each room over time and responds to real behaviour: when a resident usually rises, how long the bathroom visit typically takes, when a guest room is normally empty. Pre-conditioning, lighting scenes and setbacks are shaped around those patterns, and a physical override is always one press away on the switch itself.

The same intelligence that keeps people safe

The presence sensing that drives comfort is the same sensing that detects a fall or notices a resident wandering at night. That is the heart of the Arqaios approach: one fixture, installed once, doing both jobs. Safety earns the fixture its place in the room; comfort and energy are what it delivers every hour after that.

Why "seamless" is the point

Environmental optimisation only works if nobody has to operate it. Residents in memory care will not manage a thermostat. Guests will not read a card about the energy program. Staff do not have time to walk the halls turning off lights. ALLIE is designed for buildings where the people in the rooms should never have to think about the rooms, and where the operator still gets the comfort, the savings and the visibility.

About Arqaios

Arqaios builds ALLIE, a fixture-native ambient intelligence platform that embeds privacy-first sensing and edge AI into standard switches, outlets and vents, for fall prevention and detection, guest and resident safety, and energy reduction in senior living and hotels. Talk to us.

How Should AI "See" in the Real World?

As AI moves into bedrooms, bathrooms, and everyday living spaces, how it “sees” matters. We break down the tradeoffs of cameras and Wi-Fi sensing, and why mmWave radar is emerging as the privacy-first foundation for real-world awareness.

Advancing the energy transition at the edge

Arqaios moves energy management to the edge by embedding control in outlets, switches, and vents. We cut vampire loads, turn off lights in empty rooms, tune room-level HVAC, and extend battery backup with predictive automation across homes, senior living, hospitality, and offices.
